With her roots in architecture, Jean Won's debut jewelry collection Jean & Merce explores materiality, form and composition. Won transforms her love of collage, weaving and knotting all things industrial and feminine into a 12 category collection, featuring brass chains, gold vermeil, fabrics, string, chunky rough stones to more delicate precious and semi precious stones. Won's debut collection features flirty bracelets, statement necklaces and hair accessories inspired by the style of Art Nouveau. Jean weaves her signature color rose through her collection and adheres to a vintage infused palette consisting of ambers, rich greens, blacks and grey. Won envisioned Jean & Merce as a line of jewelry accessible to all, committed to bringing glamour to any outfit. Jean Won is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Architecture. Won has held integral design positions at prestigious companies such as Urban Outfitters, Yoo for Philipe Starck and Bloomingdale's. She is the founder of Maum Design, a New York based company of which Jean & Merce is a subsidiary. The Jean & Merce design team consists of Jean Won, Beliz Gorgul and our most valuable companion, Merce, the brussels griffon.
